I got my first deer of the season yesterday evening. It was a cow horned spike buck that needed to be taken out of the gene pool. The buck was harvested at 5:05 PM in Crenshaw County, Alabama.
My dad has done wonders with the new piece of property that he and I have have been working on for the past two season and i have to say by planting the rite food source is starting to pay off on its third year. The buck that I had harvested weighed in at 147 lbs and for some odd reason it had no teeth on its
left side jaw bone.
Also to my knowing and viewing of the deer i noticed that
he also was missing his left testicular.
This is why i try and keep up with all the deer that i harvest each year and keep study on them whether they are a doe or a buck. I age this buck to only be 1.5 years of age which is what makes him so strange to be in such bad shape. I will now mark this buck as the first doe/buck study of the 2010 and 2011 hunting season.
