The season starts for youth on Saturday March 12, 2011. Given the weather that we have had it may be a little slow. What is this season going to bring when the actual season opens on March 15. I guess we will have to wait and see.
The season started off slow last year with not one bird gobbling and the way this season is it may be in the same boat.As the season comes in the call makers of today are bound to make and sell more calls this season than the years past. There has been a post on my other site Hello Hunting about using your old calls this season. Never loose these calls due to the fact of the economy is going up and down. More or less on the cost of calls they tend to go up each year. After I get done writing this article I may even have to write something on Pop Critics to follow this up.
It’s like a tank of gas that cost you at the time this article was written at $3.48 a gallon. The bad thing is you don’t get a full gallon.
Nine tenths!
What in the hell is that? Why don’t they just say one U.S. gallon. For this is not Europe, Spain, and China it’s America for god sake. We are up crap creek here and not down my creek for some odd reason. So I suggest you keep your old calls when you head to the turkey woods this season for they may get you that old tom you have been chasing for the past four years.
Good Luck!
